Stress Tip..by
G. Gaynor McTigue..WED.6/15/05 How long must you endure a bad choice? Somehow
-- you don't quite know why, or how -- you think you picked the wrong career...
school... doctor... business partner... babysitter... contractor... financial
advisor ...supplier. And it's stressing you to no end. First, be sure you're not
just being peevish, impatient, intractable, or one-sided. What may be required
is a simple adjustment, compromise or getting-used-to period. Give it at least
that. For more serious cases, a face-to-face sit-down or outside advice may be
in order. It will cut the tension and bring issues to the surface. But if you've
tried to make it work, in earnest -- without success -- it's time to accept your
mistake and move to correct it. The worst thing to do is let it grind on unresolved
and suffer increasingly harmful consequences. We all make bad choices. The difference
is in how and when we endeavor to address them. Why make yourself crazy? Make StressHoliday.com your home page and be greeted each weekday morning with a new stress-reducing strategy! Based
on G. Gaynor McTigue's acclaimed book Why Make Yourself Crazy? featured
in major publications and on talk shows across America.
Previous Stress Tip Don't live your life through a camera lens. Sometimes
we're so anxious to get our trip, milestone, or special occasion on film, we all
but miss the event itself! Look, you're never going to enjoy something more than
when it's actually happening. So why blunt the experience by peering at it through
a view finder? Or fussing over angles, poses and camera settings? A couple of
quick snapshots or video clips will suffice to chronicle the event and establish
the who, what, when and where. Most of these pictures usually end up in a shoebox
anyway, rarely if ever seen. Be a participant rather than an observer. Your firsthand
memory will be far more poignant than anything you put on celluloid. Why make
yourself crazy?
