at me! Look how busy, rushed and vital I am!" This, unfortunately, is the
way many of us view our overscheduled lives. Sure, running around in the thick
of it can often be exhilarating. But it's a precarious house of cards. A single
scheduling glitch can cause everything to spin out of control. Worse, always operating
in crisis mode puts a tremendous amount of stress and wear-and-tear on you-weakening
your immune system and aging you mercilessly. So don't compete or boast about
how crazed you are. Being productively calm and in control wins out in the long
run. Why make yourself crazy?
Today's Health Headlines Previous Stress Tip Channel your anger into productive energy. Anger is like steam. Held in, it can build to the point of bursting, leaving damage in its wake. But also like steam, which can propel an engine, you can release your anger in positive ways. Make a conscious effort not to dwell or feed on it. Instead, get busy. Channel your anger into rational and composed ways to deal with the problem that caused it. You'll be more likely to dispel it peacefully, rather than pop off in a manner you might regret. Why make yourself crazy?
