Today's
Stress Tip..by
G. Gaynor McTigue..TUE.05/03/05 Fire yourself. If you're
constantly running late, over-scheduling your days, making far too many mistakes,
rushing around in a dither, doing everything in a slapdash manner...fire yourself!
Because what you're doing now simply isn't working. So start over. Rethink things.
And hire a new, different you to manage your life. One who doesn't say yes to
anything until you've weighed its demands against your time and energy. One who
realizes it's actually more productive (and infinitely more rewarding) to do fewer
things well than many things badly. Like a company that sells off a poorly performing
subsidiary, rid your life of needless pursuits that do little more than compound
the chaos. If your current lifestyle isn't cutting it, give it the pink slip.
Why make yourself crazy? Make StressHoliday.com your home page and be greeted each weekday morning with a new stress-reducing strategy! Based
on G. Gaynor McTigue's acclaimed book Why Make Yourself Crazy? featured
in major publications and on talk shows across America.
Previous Stress Tip Don't be so dismissive. Do
you often summarily reject something, or find an excuse to deem it unworthy, not
because it lacks merit, but simply out of expediency? Because you're too busy
to properly evaluate it? Be careful. At such times it's very easy to pass over
an extraordinary opportunity. (Note the word "miss" in dismissive.)
Ideally, you should never let yourself become so overwhelmed you cut yourself
off from exploring new ideas and directions. Even in a frazzled state, you should
never reject something or someone outright, before giving them at least a cursory
investigation. It could be the very thing that springs you from the indentured
life of stress you're living. Why make yourself crazy?
