been grossly or ungraciously snubbed, insulted, ignored, mistreated, or misunderstood.
Don't hold it in and let it fester. It can breed harmful stress and resentment,
impede your ability to function, destroy an important relationship. In a composed
manner, as soon as convenient, let the other party know how upset you are. Explain
why you feel hurt. Ask that suitable recompense or apology be made. You may not
always get the satisfaction you seek, but confronting the issue will help vent
your anger and distress. It also sends the message you won't tolerate such treatment
in the future. When it really smarts, they need to hear from you. Why make yourself
crazy? Today's Health Headlines Previous Stress Tip Don't be so thin-skinned. Why let an off-the-cuff remark or minor criticism rankle you to the degree it leaves you tense, angry and unable to focus on much else? Develop a hide thick enough so that verbal slights bounce right off and get only the minimal attention they deserve. (Sometimes we misconstrue what was said, too.) Overblown reactions create unnecessary stress and negative energy. To what purpose? You can bet the off-putting remark isn't bothering the person who delivered it! Don your emotional flak jacket and accept that you can't always please everyone. Why make yourself crazy?
