many companies-even some who were formerly reputable-are falling all over themselves
trying to dupe us into accepting deals that are less than they're cracked up to
be. Banks, car dealers, phone companies, retailers, service companies, and many
other businesses--especially those on the Internet--deserve the closest of scrutiny.
Trust no one. Watch out for surprise fees, hidden clauses, inflated claims, inadequate
warranties, and shoddy support services. Read the fine print, ask the pointed
questions, BEFORE you sign up. It's a lot less taxing than extricating yourself
from a lousy deal, or getting retribution, later on. Why make yourself crazy?
Today's Health Headlines Previous Stress Tip Carve out time each day for yourself. "I have no time to myself" is a common refrain. Whose fault is that? First, you have to accept that personal time is a necessity, not a luxury, or you'll never leave yourself any. We all need some kind of break each day...to get away from work, chores, people, even family. Depriving yourself of "me time" will only leave you feeling ornery and resentful. Besides, how else can we properly evaluate what we're doing, see the big picture, appreciate those we love, unless we stand back from them once in a while? Take your allotted number of timeouts. Why make yourself crazy?
