7/25/06 Don't let stress play havoc with your memory. And
well it might. When you're constantly stressed, you can't remember much of anything.
You forget the simplest things, like names and phone numbers (even your own!).
Think how impossible it is to find something when you're rushing out the door.
Or recall a computer procedure when you're under the gun. Here's a temporary fix.
Take a deep breath and relax to unclutter your mind. Even take your mind off it
for a moment (like not looking directly at an object to see it better in the dark).
It'll come to you. But that's not the answer. Losing the stress is. If you want
to improve your memory...simply remember to keep applying these stress-reducing
strategies. Why make yourself crazy? Today's Health Headlines Previous Stress Tip Don't pay for everything twice. Once with your money, and again with your resentment. Getting angry every time you reach for your wallet is high blood pressure hell. Things cost. And invariably they cost more than we expect them to. Still more every time prices go up -- and you can bet they will. It's a fact of life you have to accept. Letting it eat away at you only does unnecessary harm. Replace those ill feelings with positive ones. Like what you're getting, not what you're spending. And if you really don't think it's worth the tab, shop around for a better deal. Or do without. Why make yourself crazy?
